Farm to Glass Tour
At Kuleana Rum Works, we are farmers, distillers, and blenders. We produce some of the highest-rated rums in the world, starting with our signature Hawaiian Rum Agricole®, crafted from the fresh juice of estate-grown kō (Hawaiian heirloom sugarcane) on our 44-acre Kohala Coast farm. Our Hawaiian Rum Agricole was recently named “The Best American White Rum” by Wine Enthusiast, and our Hōkūlei blend was recognized as “The Best American Aged Rum”!
Tour Details
The tour begins at our 44-acre farm on the Kohala coast at Upolu Point. While there, you’ll explore our farm and learn the fascinating story of how kō arrived in Hawai’i (hint: not with the sugar industry) and about the amazing Wayfinders who developed it over millennia and cultivated ~30 unique Hawaiian varieties after introducing it as a “canoe plant” 100 years ago. You’ll also witness how we harvest and juice the kō and enjoy a refreshing glass of freshly pressed wai kō (sugarcane juice). Then, we’ll caravan to our distillery in Kawaihae to delve into the spirits-making process and see firsthand why our rums are rated among the world’s finest. Finally, unwind with a guided tasting of our award-winning, additive-free rums in the Kuleana Tasting Room at Queens’ Marketplace in Waikoloa Beach Resort. Guests will meet a member of the Kuleana Rum Works team at our farm at the very Northern point of the island, near Hāwī, caravan to our distillery in Kawaihae for a behind-the-scenes look at rum-making, and we will conclude the tour with a guided tasting at the Kuleana Tasting Room.

Important Information About Our Experiences: Age Requirements: This experience is designed for adults. Families with young children are encouraged to visit the Kuleana Rum Shack, where you can enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and adults 21+ can savor a Kuleana Rum flight and craft cocktails. Weather: Tours run rain or shine. If conditions are deemed unsafe, however, we reserve the right to cancel. In such cases, you will have the option to either receive a refund or reschedule. Restrictions: Guests should be comfortable walking on uneven or rocky terrain and be prepared for potentially cool, wet, or muddy conditions. Additional tour restrictions may apply. Restroom Facilities: Restrooms are available at the distillery and the Rum Shack. Refund and Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received via email to [email protected] at least 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations made at least 24-48 hours prior to the start time of the tour via email will receive 50% refund, and cancellations given less than 24 hours as well as no-shows are non-refundable.
